Is a book I read a long time ago. In John Brunner's Stand on Zanzibar, one of the major protagonists of the story is a Muslim. It is good: http://tal.forum2.org/soz. Stand on Zanzibar by John Brunner. Written in '68 about the 2010 time frame and what a wonderful read this has been! Malem Readers, gile udah malem sabtu aja nih.. It's called 'Stand on Zanzibar' because that's where we'd have to stand shoulder to shoulder so as not to drown, unlike the metaphorical 3 Billion standing there with a joint in each hand on the Isle of Wight back in the sixties. Stand on Zanzibar may date back to 1969, but the New Wave #scifi classic was prescient, as this essay explains. This in and of itself made Stand on Zanzibar a unique, interesting read, and I believe Brunner did a good job portraying both Norman's struggles with still prevalent racism and presenting him as a well-rounded character. No portal The Millions, um interessante artigo de Ted Gioia sobre Stand on Zanzibar, a distopia premiada de John Brunner que em 1968 mostrou um ano de 2010 marcado pela sobrepopulação (do qual já falei aqui). This book was recommended to me by the manager of Mile Cross Library, and I didn't really fancy it.
